Welcome! Take a seat, grab your favorite blanket, cuddle in.
Let me tell you a story.
I had this wild and vivid set of dreams.
The first was about my dog. This might sound crazy, but I knew her before she was even born. What she looked like, what her personality was like, how she would make me feel. I can’t really explain why, but something told me I needed to find her.
And then months later, a friend showed me a picture of a puppy. The first time I saw her little dark-brown patched eye, and her mischievous little grin, it was like time stood still. Cliche, right? But I never believed in love at first sight until that moment.
The second was about a man. Dark curly hair. A deep accented voice. Sheep herding and Border Collies. I wasn’t given much, just glimpses. One thing was certain though, the dreams gave me butterflies. No, hummingbirds.
It took some convincing, but I started outlining a story and out of nowhere the characters took the wheel. Somehow, I knew I could breathe it all into existence. When I finally started writing, it was like the story told itself, like I was the conduit and not the writer.
And that’s how my first book came to be.

Emma Little enters the elite world of competitive sheep herding, only to fall for a grumpy Irish rival, bond with a once-in-a-lifetime dog, and face off with a dangerous predator who might be closer than she realizes.
Please note: this is not an official cover nor is my book available for purchase. I mocked this up in Canva for fun while I dream of becoming a published author.
Author
Bridget Cary (She/Her): I’m a debut novelist and hobby-farm owner, currently working full-time with a dream of pursuing my passion for writing unusual love in unique backdrops. Being a diabadass (type 1 diabetic) has fundamentally shaped my worldview and made me the person I am today. You’ll often find me advocating for people with disabilities and gently educating about the financial and mental/emotional cost of living with a chronic illness.
I love people and people’s stories and backgrounds. I’m curious about the world I live in and think a lot about how to be a better person, a better friend, a better feminist, a better steward. I don’t always get it right, but I’ve learned to view feedback as a gift.
I like to think of myself as a high-functioning introvert, and while I enjoy people a great deal, sitting on the back of my horse with a good book recharges my soul.
My husband and I live in Wisconsin with our dogs, cats, chickens, goats, horses and llama.
